At an Islamic Society of Orange County (ISOC) Community Event for Palestine, which was streamed live on the YouTube channel "ISOCMasjid" on November 12, 2023, Hussam Ayloush, the executive-director of CAIR-LA, said that Israel "should be attacked." He said that Israel does not have the right to defend itself, like Nazi Germany didn't have the right to defend itself in occupied France and Poland and the Russians don't have the right to defend themselves in Ukraine. Ayloush added that Palestinians have the right to resist and defend themselves through any means they choose, poetry, protests, or picking up arms.
California Islamic scholar Zaid Shakir of Zaytuna College in Berkely, CA, suggested that Muslims should tell Trump that if he creates a Palestinian state, he will be remembered as the greatest president in history, and will be placed on Mount Rushmore. He added that Trump is "crazy enough" that this might work.

Hussam Ayloush: "The myth or the claim [that] Israel has the right to defend itself – no. An occupier never has the right to defend itself. Nazi Germany in France has no right to defend itself. Nazi Germany in Poland does not have the right to defend itself. Putin's Russia in Ukraine does not have the right to defend itself. You are an occupier. The only one who has the right to defend themselves are the occupied – in this case, the Palestinian people. It is extremely important to keep that in mind.
