Cyber-Team Affiliated With Iran-Backed Militias Claims Three Cyber Attacks, Including One Targeting Israel-American Artificial Intelligence (AI) Company

June 17, 2024

On June 7, 2024 a cyber team affiliated with Iran-backed militias in Iraq claimed to have carried out three cyber attacks. The first, said the group's Telegram channel, targeted the website of a joint Artificial Intelligence (AI) project involving Israeli and U.S. engineers and academics. A message allegedly placed on the project's hacked website threatened to target "every website" associated with the "forces of global arrogance" in a show of support for the Palestinian cause.

The second and third attacks targeted Romania-based websites, one of which the hacking team claimed was affiliated with pro-LGBT causes. Concluding, the channel threatened that many more operations will follow in support of the Palestinian resistance.
