On September 25, 2024, a pro-Hamas outlet published a post on its Telegram channel in English, Arabic, and Russian soliciting donations of the cryptocurrency Tether. Unlike previous posts soliciting donations, the new post did not include a wallet address or QR code leading to it. It asked potential donors to contact the outlet before proceeding with the transaction, for fear that Israeli authorities will block the account.
