On December 25, 2022, Iranian Army Chief of Staff Major General Mohammad Hossein Bagheri denied reports that Iranian drones are being deployed to support Russian forces in the war in Ukraine.[1] Bagheri said that such claims constitute "psychological warfare," disseminated by Iran's enemies. He then emphasized that false claims of Iran's involvement prove the significance and power of Iran's advanced drone technology, saying Iran intends to "work with other nations" as part of its drone industry.
Bagheri described Iran as one of the world's top five drone powers, saying Iranian UAVs can carry out a wide range of operations with great precision and flying endurance. He referred to a statement he said was made by a former U.S. Central Command General stating U.S. air superiority has been disrupted by Iranian drones, adding: "this is a big and humiliating confession by the Americans."
