The following compilation video shows four examples of jihadi groups using bitcoin to fund their efforts and encouraging their supporters to donate to the groups using bitcoin. The first example in the compilation shows sections of a one-minute clip that jihadi fundraising group Al-Sadaqah released on December 16, 2017, showing a foreign jihadi fighter explaining what the group purchased using bitcoin donations from supporters.[1]
The second example shows the 19-second video that jihadi fundraising group SadaqaCoins released in four different languages on January 3, 2019. The video features Amir Muslim, commander of Junud Ash-Sham militant group in Syria, encouraging supporters to donate using Bitcoin.[2]
The third example shows sections of a short video that the Syria-based private jihadi military contractor Malhama Tactical (MT) released on January 29, 2019. In the video, which highlights the group's trainers' experience and skill in shooting, maneuvering, and using weapons such as grenades and RPGs, the group asks for donations and gives a Bitcoin address and a QR code.[3]
The fourth example shows Palestinian Journalist Hussam Al-Dajany, who also lectures at Gaza Open University, saying in a January 30, 2019 interview on Al-Aqsa TV that Hamas is accepting Bitcoin donations.[4]
