On November 4, 2019, a pro-Islamic State (ISIS) tech group shared a post on Telegram warning followers against installing the DeviceID app on their phones. The post states that the app "sends sensitive data unsecured for no good reason" and "attempts to install additional applications without users' knowledge." It also notes that "any hacker can easily hijack the data."
