Pro-Islamic State (ISIS) Media Groups Experiment With Encrypted TeleGuard Messaging App After Wave Of Telegram Deletions; Supporters Question Its Security

In recent days, pro-Islamic State (ISIS) media groups, including those that distribute official ISIS media in Arabic and in translations to other languages, have begun to create accounts on the TeleGuard messaging app. TeleGuard was created by Switzerland-based IT company Swisscows, run by Andreas Wiebe. It describes itself as an end-to-end encrypted messaging app which does not store chats or share data and automatically deletes files after one month at the latest. The app has been available since at least March 2023.
