According to an August 31, 2023 "exclusive" report on the Syrian opposition website Eye of Euphrates, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) and Hizbullah plan to train Russian soldiers and officers in Syria to operate Iran-manufactured attack drones. The training course is to take place at the Palmyra military airbase, which is under the exclusive control of the Russian forces. The report was accompanied by a short video that summarizes its main points.
