On September 25, 2017, the Islamic State (ISIS)-affiliated Nasher News Telegram channel posted a link to the new account of the ISIS news agency A'maq on the Riot.im platform.
According to the Riot.im website, the service offers "decentralized, encrypted chat and collaboration" that is powered by matrix.org, which is a decentralized open standard communication platform.
The account shared ISIS content and gained 74 members before being removed, shortly after the link was posted. A notification at the link said that the suspension was "due to violating the terms of use of the server."
