Thousands Of ISIS Accounts On Telegram Warn: Don't Make Plans For Migration To Caliphate On Encrypted Messaging Platforms

On July 20, 2016, multiple pro-ISIS accounts on the messaging app Telegram shared a graphic warning about "Hijrah to Khilafa from Darul Kuffar," telling followers to refrain from seeking ways to reach the Islamic State via encrypted messaging platforms such as Telegram or WhatsApp. The Telegram accounts also urged their followers to re-share the graphic.

The message on the graphic read: "Warning - There is no Hijrah through Telegram or Whatsapp. Whoever claims to offer hijrah facilitation services is a spy wanting to trap brothers. Please Spread"
