In the 2024 European Parliament elections, held on June 8, 2024, Irish white supremacist political activists ran for election in the Midlands-West-North and Dublin constituencies. In the weeks and months preceding the elections, prominent Irish white supremacists and organizations mounted concerted campaigns for election. Their activism included online advocacy, flyer drops in letter boxes, door-to-door canvassing, and handing out leaflets in public areas and at anti-government demonstrations.

This report examines the electoral efforts of Irish white supremacist political activists. This report will also examine online discourse by a prominent Irish white supremacist Telegram channel in relation to the elections.

Former Leader Of National Party Runs On Party Platform Despite Split

Irish white supremacist political activist Justin Barrett stood for election in the European Parliament elections. Barrett previously led the Irish white supremacist "The National Party" (NP), but was removed from his position as president in April 2024. Within a week of being removed from the NP, Barrett announced the formation of a new fascist party.

However, Barrett maintains that he is still the leader of NP, and he ran for election as a candidate for the NP. His affiliation as an NP candidate was reflected on the ballot papers and in the online tabulation of results.

Barrett is known for his ultranationalist and anti-immigration positions. His predominant focus is on preserving Irish identity and opposing multiculturalism.

In the 2024 European Parliament elections, Barrett ran for election in the constituency of Midlands-North West. Justin Barrett's wife, Rebecca Barrett, also ran for election in the Dublin constituency.

Justin Barrett received a total of 4,791 votes (0.7%) in the Midlands-North-West constituency, while Rebecca Barrett received a total of 3,908 votes (1.04%) in the Dublin constituency.

On May 18, Barrett gave an interview on Shannonside FM, the local radio station for Counties Longford, Leitrim, and Roscommon. The official Telegram account of Barrett's new organization shared the audio recording of the interview in a post on May 18. The channel wrote, "Justin Barrett interview for the European Elections in Midland-North-West for a Number 1 Vote on June 7th."

In the interview, Barrett addressed the in-fighting within the National Party and asserted that he was the leader of the party. He then discussed his policy platform, which was mainly concerned with opposing immigration, deporting migrants, and banning abortion.

Barrett posted a photo on his Telegram channel on June 7 showing himself smiling and holding a ballot paper. Barrett is wearing a NP badge. The post states: "Dumbocratic duty done! Please give your Number 1 to Justin Barrett in Midlands North West & to Rebecca Barrett in Dublin. Vote Barrett in both!"

The Fascist National Party Run Four Candidates, Gain Less Than .75% Of The National Vote

The National Party (NP) made a concerted effort to field candidates in the concurrent European Parliament and Irish local elections. NP ran two candidates in the European Parliament elections. The first candidate, James Reynolds, is the incumbent (but disputed) leader of NP. Reynolds ran for election in the constituency of Midlands-North-West. The second candidate, Patrick Quinlan, is NP deputy leader and he ran in the Dublin constituency.

While neither candidate was successful in winning a seat in the European Parliament elections, Quinlan was successfully in being elected to the Fingal County Council. Quinlan's election makes him the NP's first elected representative in the party's history. NP designed a webpage dedicated to providing profiles of the party's candidates in both elections.
