On Monday, October 17, 2022, the body of a 12-year-old girl named Lola Daviet was found in a suitcase in Paris, France. Authorities suspect that Daviet was raped and tortured prior to her death. Two suspects, a woman and a man, appeared in court on Monday, and an investigation was opened for "rape committed with acts of torture and barbarism" as well as for hiding her body.[1] The woman, a 24-year-old identified as "Dahbia B," was indicted for the killing.[2]
Following news of Daviet's death, neo-Nazis and white supremacists in France and around the world, in Australia, Greece, Romania, Switzerland, Ukraine, the United Kingdom, and the United States took to social media. Extremists expressed their outrage over the girl's death, claiming it was an "anti-white hate crime [and] a result of immigration." They blamed immigration, stating Daviet's death was a "result... of a multiracial society" and that "immigration kills." Others claimed that more white children will face the same fate as Daviet. Other extremists, particularly those based in France, posted announcements featuring demonstrations responding to Daviet's killing and photos of their members publicly demonstrating.
