Neo-Nazis And White Supremacists React To The Crisis In Haiti On Telegram, X, And Gab: 'Instead Of Saving The Haitians AGAIN Maybe We Should Just Let Them Cannibalize Themselves Into Extinction'

Since news first broke of the crisis in Haiti on March 5, 2024, white supremacists and neo-Nazis online have exploited aspects of the crisis to legitimize their beliefs in white supremacy and to provide evidence for anti-immigration arguments. The collapse of the Haitian government, the rise in power of "President Barbeque," and cannibalism allegations have featured prominently in extremist spaces online.

The following report will highlight reactions to the ongoing violence in Haiti from neo-Nazis and white supremacists on social media platforms, including Telegram, Gab, and X.

White Supremacists And Neo-Nazis Capitalize On Haitian Crisis To Encourage Anti-Immigration Sentiment

A white supremacist multimedia company posted a video on March 10 showing Haitian citizens running through the streets of Port-Au-Prince, with sporadic gunfire in the background. The channel captioned the video: "Haiti on brink of total collapse amid mass prison breaks. Gangs have taken control, torching police stations, assaulting airports and setting the Interior Ministry on fire. The Prime Minister has fled the country. Mass murdering all those White people in Haiti 180 or so years ago seems to really have paid off. Now the descendants of the genocide will have to come begging to be let into an 'oppressors' country once again. Lol. This is your future, if Whites are replaced."

An American neo-Nazi and antisemitic conspiracy theorist involved in the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville mockingly suggested that Haitian "politicians," referring to gang leaders, be granted "immediate asylum in Israel." On March 11, he wrote, "Diversity is the greatest strength and Israel needs all it can get right now!"

White Supremacists And Neo-Nazis Speculate On Racial Inferiority Of Haitians, Claim That Haiti Needed White Guidance To Avoid Instability: "Maybe If Haiti Didn't Genocide All The Whites 100 Years Or So Ago You'd Be In A Better Position Today"

An American neo-Nazi posted a meme on March 12 mocking the crisis in Haiti. The meme shows Marty McFly and Biff Tannen of the movie, Back to the Future, with Biff saying, "'What was that, BUTTHEAD?'" McFly replies, "'Nah I was just sayin', instead of saving Haiti AGAIN maybe we should just let them cannibalize themselves into extinction.'"

A Florida-based neo-Nazi published a post on Gab alleging that black Haitians were racially inferior to other races, pointing to the violence and cannibalism allegations as evidence for her claim: "Haitians and American (duh they're not really American ... just for reference) black people from the slavery era... Are NOT the same. I am a racist. I don't believe in miscegenation. I don't associate with black people from any country. But I am telling you for your safety it's like a trained dog vs a rabid dog. I grew up in South Florida where there are many Haitians now. I worked with them at the tail end of working for me. Haitians are EXTREMELY dangerous. They are not like the beaten down retarded n***ers that sort of know their place. They scream like dangerous monkeys, use their hands like monsters, and do not think twice whether it's day, night, public, private. They will hurt you for NO reason. Yes, this risk is with all blacks, but Haitians are worse."

A Canadian accelerationist posted a photoshopped image of Jimmy Chérizier, known as "Barbecue," the gang leader trying to take over the Haitian government. In the photo, he was holding a human arm and a machine gun with a Haitian flag in the background. The caption to the image read: "LORD BARBECUE – The leader Haiti deserves." He captioned the post, "Lord Barbecue is the leader Haiti deserves. #StandWithBarbecue"
