Neo-Nazis Online React To New Jewish Mexican President-Elect Claudia Sheinbaum's Victory

On June 2, 2024, Mexico held its presidential election. Claudia Sheinbaum won decisively. She is set to become Mexico's first female president. Numerous neo-Nazis, white supremacists, and conspiracy theorists on multiple social media platforms have been focusing on her Jewish background. Multiple individuals are circulating antisemitic caricatures of Sheinbaum with an enlarged nose, and others are claiming that it is a statistical improbability that an overwhelmingly Catholic country, such as Mexico, would elect a Jewish leader. One prominent White supremacist streamer wrote "One of the only Jews in Mexico has become the president of Mexico somehow."

Users also claimed that Sheinbaum's victory would further exacerbate the situation at the U.S. southern border, since she will purportedly work in tandem with Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, who is Jewish, to allow illegal immigration into the United States. One antisemitic user wrote "The two people who will now control the American Southern Border-DHS Secretary Mayorkas and Mexican President-elect Sheinbaum - are both Jews with strong family lineages tied to European Communism. Let that sink in."

Threats: "They Should Kill Her If Beaners Know What's Good For Them"

In a threatening June 3 post, a neo-Nazi Gab user wrote: "Mexico is about to become a whole lot worse. They should kill her if beaners know what's good for them."

Several threats were published by anonymous users on image board 4Chan on June 3. One asked: "Is the cartel gonna do something about her? It seems only logical to be honest aren't they supposedly religious Catholics?"

Another user stated: "Just kill the Jewish candidate, they are trying to hijack your entire country."

Another Gab neo-Nazi user wrote, "Fuck Mexico. For too many reasons. We should be bombing the fuck out of them. Start with this Jew's home."

Antisemitic Depictions

A Neo-Nazi X user published a photoshopped image of Sheinbaum with a crooked nose clasped hands, in the vein of the antisemitic caricature "The Happy Merchant." They wrote: "Trust me goyim, we’ll take good care of the migrant crisis at the southern border.

A neo-Nazi X user posted what appears to be an AI-generated image of Sheinbaum standing in front of a Mexican flag. The depiction of the newly elected President features an exaggerated long nose and a Star of David on her forehead.

Another Neo-Nazi X user published an AI-generated image of Sheinbaum with a cartoonishly large nose. They added: "I'm Mexican, goys."

Conspiracy Theories Surround Sheinbaum Victory: "The US Border Is Now Entirely Under Jewish Control"

Multiple neo-Nazis and conspiracy theorists questioned the statistical possibility of Mexico electing a non-Catholic leader, when Jews are a small percentage of the population. Others noted that both Sheinbaum and Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas are both Jewish, and therefore have nefarious plans relating to the Southern Border, involving escalated illegal immigration. Others claimed that many political challengers were killed off by cartel members.

One Gab user commented: "Mayorkas will be holding the door open while Sheinbaum pushes the illegals through."

A Neo-Nazi user suggested: "how about we take control of the southern border and start serving lead salads?"

On June 3, a neo-Nazi user wrote: "The US Southern Border is now entirely under Jewish control. Expect things to get much worse with illegal criminals pouring into the America, cartel crimes, white people & children disappearing, rape & murder, more difficulty for Americans going INTO Mexico, Fentanyl ODs…"

A Neo-Nazi Gab user wrote: "Media leaves out she's a Zionist Jew…with her and Jewish Mayorkas now controlling both sides of the US border we will see mass migration like never before seen. Jewish NGOs like HIAS organization responsible for coordinating mass migration will have complete control."

In a post on the neo-Nazi forum Storm Front, a user drew a comparison with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. On June 3, the user wrote: "Mexicans are a lot like Ukrainians in electing Jews to lord over them. Mexicans and Ukrainians know enough about Jews and their talents in attracting vast amounts of money, to actually thing they might cash in with a winning Jewish lottery ticket, when in fact, it is the Jews who loot the country's money. Mexicans would be wise to look into Zelensky's handling of all the billions which poured into Ukraine, and quickly disappeared. Not to mention the half million Ukrainian men who left behind nothing but widows and fatherless children. With Jews you lose."

A Neo-Nazi Truth Social user commented on Sheinbaum's victory in a post on June 3: "It’s so obvious at this point. Wake up you dumb fucking morons."

On X, a user wrote that "Mexico has fallen."

Another X user wrote: "It's funny how many Jews and Jew worshippers have been 'selected' recently."
