Neo-Nazis, White Supremacists React To Success Of Chinese AI Startup DeepSeek

On January 27, 2025, Chinese AI startup DeepSeek roiled markets with its introduction of a technology to rival ChatGPT that it produced at lower cost, shaking confidence in U.S. dominance in the field of generative AI.[1] Multiple neo-Nazis and white supremacists on various social media platforms reacted to this development. Prominent figures in these spaces praised DeepSeek's success. Some viewed DeepSeek with suspicion, noting that it may be used to steal sensitive data. Others lamented that the answers it provides to queries are not antisemitic.
