On July 15, 2024, former president Donald Trump, the Republican nominee in the U.S. presidential election, announced that he had chosen freshman Ohio Senator, J.D. Vance, as his vice presidential candidate. The choice of Senator Vance as the Republican vice presidential candidate, who wife is of Indian descent, has led to racist reactions from neo-Nazis and white supremacists online – particularly on the anonymous online message board 4chan.org/pol, which is known for extremist rhetoric. However, racist reactions have also been observed on more mainstream social media platforms, including X (formerly Twitter), as well as Reddit, where users have labeled Senator Vance a “race traitor.”

The following report will provide an overview of racist reactions from neo-Nazis and white supremacists to the choice of Senator Vance as the Republican vice presidential nominee.

Neo-Nazis And White Supremacists On 4Chan.Org/Pol Label Senator Vance As A "Race Traitor"

Racist and extremist content towards Senator Vance and his wife were concentrated on the anonymous online message board 4Chan.org/pol, which is known for its extremist content. Posts ranged from racist vitriol to calls for violence. Threads on the message board particularly focused on labeling Senator Vance as a "race traitor" for marrying a woman of Indian descent. On the anonymous online message board, "4chan.org/pol," an anonymous user with an American flag icon posted on a thread on July 15. The thread's initial post features pictures of Vance with his wife with the caption, "The face of WHITE REPLACEMENT. Vance is a braindead hillbilly that married a Pajeet woman, a traitor to his own race, and now they have 3 or 4 little jeet-nigglets. No thanks. Usha Chilukuri's family is the type of jeet garbage that makes money importing more jeets to take our jobs. They're trying to turn the USA into Canada. If JD Vance is Trumps VP then I'm out. I can tolerate a lot but not a RACE TRAITOR THATS WHIPPED BY A PAJEET!!!"

Another anonymous user with an American flag icon responded: "Not really. The Indian men invading the West outnumber the women by like 20:1. Besides, they're asscracks are tattooed with the stench of shit from never whipping their ass in their entire lives. JD Vance is a race traitor."

Gab Becomes Haven Where Extremists Assert ‘Great Replacement’ Conspiracy In Relation To Senator Vance And His Wife

Extremists on Gab also lambasted the choice of Senator Vance as the Republican vice presidential nominee. A white supremacist account on Gab also warned of the Great Replacement conspiracy theory when writing about Republican vice presidential candidate J.D. Vance and his wife. On July 16, the account wrote: "JD Vance wants you know that he rejects the Great Replacement Theory, is not a racist and loves his biracial babies. Romney/Ryan is starting to look good in comparison. 'I'LL TELL YOU WHAT HAPPENS. MY OWN CHILDREN, MY BIRACIAL CHILDREN GET ATTACKED BY SCUM BAGS TONIGHT AND IN PERSON BECAUSE YOU ARE SO DESPERATE FOR POLITICAL POWER THAT YOU'LL ACCUSE ME, THE FATHER OF THREE BEAUTIFUL BIRACIAL BABIES OF ENGAGING IN RACISM. WE ARE SICK OF IT. YOU CAN BELIEVE IN A BORDER WITHOUT BEING A RACIST. YOU CAN BELIEVE IN THE COUNTRY WITHOUT BEING A RACIST AND THIS JUST SHOWS HOW DESPERATE THIS GUY IS FOR POLITICAL POWER.'…"
