Every year, a Bucharest-based foundation organizes a multi-day event at a monastery in Brasov County, Transylvania. These annual events usually feature a hike, cultural and religious programs, book presentations, film screenings, and more. However, they also provide a valuable opportunity for neo-Legionary and ultranationalist groups, who attend year after year, to intermingle, strengthen ties, and fortify their ideology. The following report will cover this year's event and provide some background on the foundation which organized it, as well as the attendance of extreme-right organizations.

The foundation which is organizing the event regularly organizes events which commemorate members of the "anti-communist resistance" (an implicit reference to Iron Guard legionnaires). For instance, the foundation hosts an annual event on May 14 to celebrate the "National Day of Honoring Martyrs from Communist Prisons." Many of these so-called "martyrs," who were imprisoned by the communist regime, were members of the Iron Guard. The event traditionally ends with a torch-lit march through Bucharest, where participants hold up placards featuring portraits of Iron Guard legionnaires.
