On February 29, 2024, in a Telegram group, several neo-Nazi users in Germany discussed overthrowing their government. In the chat room, German members regularly post neo-Nazi memes and other content glorifying the National Socialist regime, despite facing potentially severe penalties for doing so. Beyond finding camaraderie with those who share a similar worldview, several users went so far as to advocate for an armed uprising against the German state. The following report will document posts shared by three users in the chat where they call for a revolution against the government.

A typical graphic shared in chat. The image depicts a group of Hitler Youth members against the backdrop of a sonnenrad, and has been captioned, in German: "We are here to take back what belongs to us."

User Asserts Government Must Be Overthrown, Calls For Return Of Hitler

One active German member of the chat room frequently shares content praising National Socialism.

On February 28, the user published an antisemitic graphic featuring the words, "Anti Jude"; a sonnenrad; a totenkopf; and a crossed-out Star of David.

On February 29, the user posted two messages reading: "We must overthrow this government. We need Adolf again."

Users Discuss Plans To Organize, Obtain Weaponry, Recruit Members

Two additional chat members discussed plans to assemble in real life and mount an uprising against the state. One began by writing: "Is [this] always [only] a group to exchange pictures and videos, and maybe some information? Or is it a group that also wants to organize itself? So, to network worldwide in all countries with Nordic races, because then you should also think about how to create structures, and also arm the countries that, unfortunately [as] in Germany, have such strict gun laws, so that we can also prepare for attacks and revolution."

The first user wrote: "Comrade, I agree with you completely, but how are we going to do that? We need weapons for that. Explosives are not the problem, although making them is not easy." The other user replied: "I had already made plans to overthrow the government, but I don't know if the leader of this group would really agree to it." He did not elaborate on these plans.
