Recently, Interior Minister Gerard Darmanin has declared his intention to dissolve several ultranationalist organizations, such as Academia Christiana, La Citadelle, Remparts Lyon and the neo-Nazi Division Martel. A few years ago he also dissolved Generation Identitaire and L’Alvarium.

In the wake of this decision, and the arrest of several activists who took part in ultranationalist demonstrations across France demanding “Justice for Thomas,’ a 16-year-old French boy who was killed at a dance party in Crepol on November 19, 2023, associations supporting incarcerated ultranationalists, fascists, white supremacists and neo-Nazis have launched calls for donations. New associations have also come up with fundraising calls, as well as individuals.

The declared aim of these organizations and individuals is to gather enough money to pay for the defense of incarcerated ultranationalists and for the legal fees generated by appealing the government’s decision to dissolve the groups. The full report provides a sample.
