4,000 Students Enrolled In Houthi Summer Camps Hold Demonstration Of Combat Skills In Sana'a, Yemen

On June 4, 2024, 4,000 Yemeni students, who were enrolled in Houthi-run summer camps, held a demonstration in Sana'a, Yemen, during which they simulated military maneuvers for high-ranking Houthi officials.

The event was organized by Sana'a's Department of Jihadi Culture and the Al-Sab'een District and was sponsored by the Houthi Defense Ministry and General Staff of the Armed Forces. Several high-ranking Houthi officials were in attendance, including Caretaker Minister of Youth and Sports, Husayn Al-Mu'ayidi; Director of the Office of the Leader of the Revolution, Safar Al-Sufi; Political Advisor to the President of the Supreme Political Council, Abdul-Ilah Hajjar; Deputy Minister of Culture, Muhammad Haydarah; Commander of the General Mobilization Forces, Brigadier General Mansour Al-Lakoumi; and Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Musa Al-Araymi.

At the event, 4,000 students representing 16 "model schools" showcased their combat skills, which included simulated rifle exercises and military stepping. The students also displayed the Yemeni and Palestinian flags alongside the slogans "boycott American and Israeli products" and "Gaza, you are not alone."

the official website of the Ansar Allah Houthi Movement noted about the event: "The demonstration which was presented by the students of the summer courses embodied the fact that the next generation is coming with the weapons of knowledge, an identity of faith, and a Qur'anic culture."[1]
