On October 17, 2024, Israel announced the killing of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, who was the mastermind and the architect behind the deadly October 7, 2023 attacks.

While Hamas's political leadership and its military wing, 'Izz Al-Din Al-Qassam, initially neither confirmed nor denied the Israeli announcement, as of this writing, a pro-Hamas Telegram channel has released a statement eulogizing the slain Hamas leader.

The group praised Sinwar's role on October 7 attacks, urging Palestinians "who have fallen behind the path of jihad" to stand and revolt against Israel everywhere.

"Legend Of Resistance"

The pro-Hamas group's statement eulogized the slain Hamas leader and addressed Palestinians, saying: "To our resisting people, to the free people of Palestine, to all who yearn for freedom and reject humiliation and degradation, we write to you today with heavy hearts boiling with revolution, and souls burning with the flames of anger and sacrifice. Today we bid farewell to the legend of resistance, the brave leader Yahya Sinwar, who ascended as a heroic martyr in the field of pride and dignity, confronting the occupation soldiers with his weapon and his steely will."

"Spirit Of Revolution"

Considering Sinwar "the revolution's spirit and Intifada's unquenchable ember," the statement glorified the latter's role in the October 7 massacre in Israel. It celebrated him, describing him as "the one who led the flood that terrified the occupier and taught the enemy that the sons of Palestine kneel only to Allah, and fear only their Creator."

The group vowed that Sinwar's death would not drain the resistance, emphasizing that even if he "has departed in body, he will remain present in every resister, in every fighter, in every stone thrown, and in every bullet fired toward the chest of the occupier."

Call For General Mobilization Against Israel

To avenge Sinwar's death in the "battle of honor," the group called for general mobilization, urging Palestinians to revolt against Israel, inciting wide-spread attacks and 'martyrdom' operations. The statement stressed that the call is directed to whoever fell behind the path of jihad, and for "every corner and street, every stone held by a young man and child."

It continued: "We want it to be a volcano of revolution that does not soothe or soften. We want the enemy to hear your roar. Commander Sinwar has illuminated the path of glory for us with his pure blood. There is no excuse for those who have fallen behind the path of the martyrs."

"Let's Set The Ground On Fire... Everywhere"

The group said in their statement that the Palestinian response to the "martyrdom" of Sinwar ought to be memorable and confrontational.

"Carry weapons, carry stones, carry everything you own, for the fight is an existential battle, and we will not accept anything less than complete victory, or an honorable death as our leader ascended," the statement asserted. It incited: "Let us set the ground on fire under the feet of the enemy, in the West Bank, in Gaza, in Jerusalem, and everywhere."

"Today, we are all Yahya Sinwar, and we are all a flood of anger. Let us tear down the walls of the occupation with our own hands and let us be a flame that burns every brutal aggressor, no retreat until the last soldier of the occupier bleeds, and no return until we liberate the last inch of our land."

The statement concluded: "Glory to the martyrs, fire to the occupiers, and freedom to Palestine."
