On August 12, 2024, Lebanese Hizbullah Executive Council Deputy Chairman Sheikh Ali Damoush delivered a speech at a Hizbullah ceremony held to eulogize fighters killed in Israeli attacks. The speech was reported by Al-Ahed, a news website affiliated with the group.

Damoush asserted that western countries, including the U.S., Britain, and Germany, were responsible for the "massacres" allegedly carried out by the Israeli military operation in the Gaza Strip, vowing that the Islamic Resistance's painful response is "inevitable."

"Israel Is A Failure"

Deputy Chairman of Hizbullah's Executive Council claimed, in his speech, that Israel has "failed” militarily, dubbing its performance in the fight against Hizbullah and Hamas as confused and desperate.

"To compensate for its failure in the battlefield, it [Israel] has resorted to assassinations, targeting civilians and committing more massacres. The latest was the brutal massacre it carried out against innocent displaced people in the Tabeen School in Gaza, which claimed the lives of more than a hundred martyrs, most of whom were women and children," he added.

"The West Bears Similar Responsibility"

The U.S., Britain, Germany, and all the countries who supply the "Zionist entity" with weapons should bear the responsibility for the "atrocities" Israel is committing in Gaza, said Damoush, who argued that the ongoing "genocide" is carried out with American and Western bombs and missiles, and under cover of their protection.

"Empty Calls For Ceasefire"

He mocked western calls for ceasefire, saying that such "empty" calls are meant to deceive the public opinion.

"We cannot understand the calls for a ceasefire or to prevent the escalation, when these people [Western countries] continue to supply the enemy with the latest types of lethal weapons and bombs that weigh more than two thousand pounds, and also cover Israel's financial deficit with billions of dollars," he added.

"The Response Is Coming"

Discussing Hizballah’s response to Israeli attacks that targeted its leadership ranks, he said:

"By simply threatening to respond, Hizbullah has put the Zionists in a state of exhaustion, paralysis, fear, panic and terror, and everyone is now living on their nerves inside the entity, and some of them are living on tranquilizers. 'A serious psychological blow to Israel,' in the words of some Israeli politicians."

Damoush promoted Iran and the constant threats against Israel issued by its supported militias, calling the threats a part of "psychological strikes." He reiterated that Hizbullah has achieved "part of its objectives" by making the "enemy" wait for the "coming and inevitable painful response."

However, he stressed that an actual act of vengeance by Hizbullah is underway.

"This decision was taken and there is no going back on it, regardless of the repercussions. Its implementation, details and timing are subject to the circumstances on the ground and the availability of opportunities. The assessment of all of that is in the hands of the resistance leadership, which acts with complete calm, awareness and wisdom, and moves under the umbrella of the interests of the people and the national interests."
