On November 16, 2024, Afghan Taliban's state-owned Bakhtar news agency published a Pashtu-language article accusing Israel of seeking to capture Gaza and subsequently Khaybar, the historical city of Saudi Arabia.

The article, titled "A Warning To The Muslim World – Capturing Historical Khaybar Is The Main Goal Of Israel" – also warned Muslims that the current era is not of Kalashnikovs and small arms, and "everything is being operated with artificial intelligence and technology."

Following is the text of the article:

"A Warning To The Muslim World – Capturing Historical Khaybar Is The Main Goal Of Israel

"When in the 7th year of Hijri [628 CE], Muslims attempted to conquer the historical fortress of Khaybar [city in Medina province, Saudi Arabia] and faced the fierce resistance of the Jews there and finally won the victory, this incident remained a historical event for the Muslims and the Jews.

"The Jews lost their land and property at that time, and some of those Jews who remained there lived according to a particular agreement with the Muslims of that time. Later, the Conquest of Jerusalem by Salah al-Din Ayyubi and other similar events led to the eternal and historical enmity of the Jews with the Muslims becoming more serious and the Jews began thinking of taking severe revenge on Muslims.

"Israelis are passing on the notion of revenge against Muslims from one generation to the next, and over time they are preparing themselves for it. By preparing themselves over the time, I mean that for example, they have achieved all the modern technology of the 21st century and they are still working hard in this field.

"If the Israelis occupied Jerusalem yesterday, today they have made a plan to occupy Gaza and tomorrow they will advance further and reach the historic Khaybar.

"But if the Islamic world unites against them and adapts itself to the current world, achieves technology, and gets modern sciences, it is not far that Israel's power circle will be limited and its dreams of taking revenge on Muslims and capturing Khaybar and other areas will be dashed.

"If the Islamic world wants to fight against Israel and other enemies of Islam, then it must first remove the thought of using the tools made by the hands and thoughts of the unbelievers and try to make modern equipment of its own, and then proceed to confront the unbelievers.

"And another important thing that I want to point out here is that the time of rocket launcher, Kalashnikov, PK Kalashnikov and small arms has passed, and today everything is being operated with artificial intelligence and technology. So, we hope the youths of the Islamic world wake up and prepare themselves for real struggle against the enemies of Islam."
