In a May 22, 2015 post on a newly established pro-ISIS section of an imageboard (8ch.net/Islamicstate), a user named "mujahid" said he would "massacre" Jews in Los Angeles.

The 8ch.net imageboard is an online platform that allows users to post images and messages anonymously and without censorship. Mujahid's message was a response to a posting by another user, "Abdul Ar-Rashid," who shared a link to an 8ch.net document indicating that the imageboard's management had disclosed information on Islamist users in response to a US government subpoena. Commenting on this document, Abdul Ar-Rashid wrote: "We got our badge of honor. What have you done lately?" Mujahid replied: "In a few days I will massacre Jewish kuffar[infidels] in Los Angeles. Stay tuned, brothers."
