Since January 2016, MEMRI published over 475 translations from print media, over 60 Inquiry & Analysis reports, over 1,150 Jihad and Terrorism Threat Monitor and Cyber & Jihad Lab Projects reports, and over 500 translated media clips - which have been viewed over 15 million times. It also sent out over 750 reports by email, an average of two emails every day. In order to carry out this extensive research and reporting, MEMRI has relied solely on the generosity of our donors.
As critical events unfold in the Middle East, we continue to work around the clock, seven days a week, 365 days a year, monitoring, translating, and analyzing primary source content from the region. But "Bridging the Language Gap" and maintaining the numerous MEMRI websites is an increasingly costly undertaking.
YOUR SUPPORT ALLOWS US TO DIRECTLY SERVE, ON A DAY-TO-DAY BASIS:
· The U.S. Armed Forces: Highest echelons of the U.S. Army, Navy, Marines, and Air Force.
· The U.S. Congress: MEMRI briefs both Republican and Democratic members of Capitol Hill's most important committees, including Armed Services, Homeland Security and Government Affairs, Intelligence, and Foreign Relations.
· The White House and federal agencies such as the Departments of State, Defense, Homeland Security, and Justice, National Counterterrorism Center, Transportation Security Agency (TSA), and more.
· Law enforcement and counterterrorism authorities in all 50 states.
· Western government agencies.
· Academia - Over 500 universities, colleges, and other institutes of higher learning use MEMRI products.
· Leading media outlets, print and television - including The Washington Post, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, NBC, ABC, CBS, FOX, and CNN.
Every day of the year, MEMRI sends its latest reports directly to your inbox and posts them to its social media accounts, constantly monitoring developments that otherwise would remain inaccessible because of the language barrier.
· MEMRI continues to research all anti-West, and particularly anti-U.S., developments in the Arab and Muslim world.
· MEMRI devotes special efforts to researching the global jihad movements, particularly the Islamic State (ISIS), and their supporters in the West, and provides significant assistance to security and intelligence agencies in North America and Europe.
· MEMRI continues to research antisemitism and Holocaust denial in the Arab and Muslim world, as well as in Muslim communities in the West.
· In early 2016, following Russia's expanded military deployment in the Middle East in alliance with the Iran-Syria-Hizbullah axis, MEMRI launched its Russian Media Studies Project, reporting, translating, and analyzing these developments.
· MEMRI continues to research Iran's activity, particularly the extent to which it is complying with the JCPOA, and monitor its aid to Hizbullah in Lebanon and the Houthis in Yemen, and its support for terrorism.
YOUR DONATION TODAY WILL BE TAX DEDUCTIBLE FOR 2016
Your continued support enables MEMRI to assist the U.S. and other Western governments and militaries in the day-to-day fight against terrorism and extremism - including monitoring terrorists, supporting reformists, and documenting antisemitism and other forms of hatred in Arab and Iranian media.
THE FOLLOWING PROJECTS STILL REQUIRE FUNDING THIS YEAR
· MEMRI TV - Monitoring and translating nearly 100 Arab and Iranian channels around the clock. This project is a major resource for researchers from government, legislatures, media, and academia; MEMRI TV clips have had over 100 million views to date.
· The Tom Lantos Archives on Antisemitism and Holocaust Denial - Focusing on this phenomenon across the Arab and Muslim world, it culminates in an annual event on Capitol Hill at which its annual report is released. Last year's speakers included Sen. John McCain, Imam Hassen Chalghoumi of Drancy, France, and Charlie Hebdo contributor Caroline Fourest.
· Reform Project - Identifying and amplifying the growing number of voices for reform in the region, and monitoring and analyzing the still-reverberating impact of the Arab Spring.
· Jihad & Terrorism Studies - Identifying imminent and ongoing threats, and examining trends in jihadi tactics, including cyber warfare, and methods, as well as the use of major social media platforms for recruiting, indoctrination, and encouraging lone-wolf attacks.
· Cyber & Jihad Lab - Researching and translating cyber jihad content originating in the Middle East, Iran, South Asia, and Africa.
· Russian Media Studies Project - Assisting Western governments and legislatures in understanding Russia's political discourse, vision, aims, and political scene, as well as the implications of its increased involvement in the Middle East.
· Iran Studies Project - Analyzing Iran's growing expansion in the region and monitoring statements about its progress in its missile program, the ongoing power struggle between its ideological and pragmatic camps, its suppression of dissidents, and more.
· South Asia Studies Project - Regional and local regional authorities struggle to cope as jihadism, including ISIS, continues to spread across South Asia.
