On February 9, 2012, Al-Qaeda's media wing Al-Sahab released a video statement by Al-Qaeda leader Ayman Al-Zawahiri. The video, 14:41 in duration, is in two parts; the first part is an audio message by Mukhtar Abu Zubayr, Emir of the Somali jihad group Al-Shabab Al-Mujahideen, in which he swears allegiance on behalf of the group to Al-Zawahiri - thus officially joining Al-Qaeda, and the second part is a video message by Al-Zawahiri himself.
