The World's Largest Archives of Footage Translated From Arab and Iranian Television
MEMRI is announcing the redesigned website of the MEMRI TV Project, www.memritv.org.
The MEMRI TV Project maintains the world's largest archives of footage translated from Arab and Iranian television. The project has so far produced 1,527 clips, totaling more than 14,000 hours of footage.
MEMRI TV is viewed in 197 countries around the world, and to date over 20 million visitors have accessed its website.
The main focus of the MEMRI TV Project is the latest developments of the Middle East in the political, ideological, religious and social spheres.
Updated Features/Content of the New Website
Improved technological features including:
- New enhanced video player
- Easier site navigation
- More subjects, countries, and channels
- Enhanced site interactivity
- The new MEMRITV web site will be housed on high-end servers in a state-of-the-art datacenter that features increased available bandwidth, resulting in a significantly improved end-user experience in navigating the site and in viewing MEMRI’s extensive video collection.
- Compilations of subjects, such as reform, women's issues, and on jihad and terrorism.
Monitoring the 100 Most Important Middle Eastern TV Channels
Established in 2004 with the aim of monitoring and translating excerpts from the 100 most important TV channels in the Middle East and Iran, the MEMRI TV Project is the only organization in the world – non-profit or governmental – doing such work.
