Anti-Liberal Russian Philosopher Dugin: 'The Time For The Final Battle Has Come'

November 28, 2023
Russia | Special Dispatch No. 10982

On November 12, 2023, anti-liberal Russian philosopher Alexander Dugin published an article in the Russian state-owned domestic news agency RIA Novosti, discussing the ongoing war in Gaza. According to Dugin, the Palestinian-Israeli conflict has "directly affected" all Muslims of the world, and this is the moment to build a new Islamic "pole" that could counter, along with other such "poles" – Russia and China – the unipolar world order lead by the United States.

The anti-liberal philosopher further added that WWIII is already happening: "How will the world order be shaped in the course of this impending confrontation? There is no ready answer to this question. The only thing that is certainly excluded is the establishment of a strong and stable unipolar world order, which the globalists so desperately cling to. The world will either be multipolar or it will not exist at all." He further said: "Will this impending conflict escalate into a nuclear war? This cannot be ruled out, especially the use of tactical nuclear weapons."

Following is a translation of Dugin's article:[1]

"Russia Is Already Fighting At Its Full Potential Against Unipolarity"

"Russia – as a pole of the multipolar world – is at war against the West in Ukraine. Many Islamic countries, under the influence of Western propaganda, did not clearly understand the causes, objectives, and the very nature of this war, believing it was [just] a regional conflict (and [in fact] there are many such conflicts in the Islamic world itself). But now that globalism in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict has directly affected all Muslims of the world, Russia's Special military operation [in Ukraine] will acquire a completely different meaning in their eyes. After all, this is a struggle between the multipolar world and the unipolar world, which means that it is being waged not only in the interests of Russia as a pole, but also indirectly (or even directly) in the interests of all the emerging geopolitical poles. This is best understood by China and, among Islamic countries, by Iran.

Recently, however, other Islamic societies – Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Turkey, Pakistan, Indonesia – have also seen a rapid growth of large-scale geopolitical awareness. For this reason, [we witnessed] attempts at rapprochement between Saudi Arabia and Iran, and Turkey's sovereign policy. The more the Islamic world identifies itself as a pole, as a unified civilization, the clearer Russia's conduct will become. Putin is already a popular leader on a global scale, especially in non-Western countries. Now, in the eyes of the world, his strategy acquires a very clear meaning and reasonableness: Russia is already fighting at its full potential against unipolarity, that is, against globalism and the West."

WWIII "Is Already Underway"

"Now the West, along with its Israeli proxy, is attacking the Islamic world, subjecting Palestinian Arabs to genocide. So, Islam's moment is coming. And in this potential war between Muslims and Western hegemony, which could erupt at any minute (as far as the Israelis are concerned, there is no doubt that they do not intend to stop until they have completely destroyed the Palestinians; the war has already reached a biblical scale by now), the Islamic world has objective allies. In this situation – [these allies] are, first of all, Russia and China, which itself is about to solve the problem of Taiwan. However, evidently, other front lines will gradually open.

"Could this lead to a World War III? Most likely, yes. And in a sense, it is already underway. For a war to become a world war, first of all, a critical mass of accumulated contradictions is necessary, which cannot be solved in any other non-military way. This condition has been fulfilled. The West does not intend to give up its hegemony voluntarily. And the new poles – rising independent civilizations, large spaces – do not agree to tolerate this hegemony. All the more so because the United States and the collective West demonstrate their complete inability to be the leaders of humanity, failing to relieve and only fomenting new conflicts and wars with their policies. If war cannot be avoided, it remains to be won."

"It Is A War Of The Atheistic, Materialistic West Against All Traditional Religions"

"What role does Donald Trump's position play in this growing confrontation between the West and Islam? Biden is a convinced globalist, a rabid Russophobe and an extreme supporter of unipolarity. This explains his staunch support for the neo-Nazi regime in Kiev and his total justification of Israel's [actions] – including outright genocide. Trump's position is more complex. He is a classic nationalist, for him the most important thing is America's interests as a state, not ephemeral plans of global domination. With regard to Russia, Trump is indifferent; he is more concerned about trade and economic competition with China. But at the same time, he is under the full influence of the Zionist lobby in America itself. And so, in the impending war between the West and Islam, we should not expect weakening on his part and on the part of the Republicans in general. In this context, while Trump's return to the White House may weaken the support for Ukraine (which is very important for Russia), he will pursue a rather tough policy toward Muslims and especially Palestinians – perhaps even tougher than Biden. So, we need to be realistic and expect a serious and difficult protracted war.

"It is just as important to realize that this is not a religious conflict. It is a war of the atheistic, materialistic West against all traditional religions. Which means that, quite possibly, the time for the final battle has come. Will this impending conflict escalate into a nuclear war? This cannot be ruled out, especially the use of tactical nuclear weapons. It is unlikely that those who have strategic nuclear weapons (Russia and NATO countries) will use them – it would be tantamount to the destruction of all mankind. But since Israel, Pakistan, and possibly Iran have tactical nuclear weapons, we cannot rule out their local use."

"The World Will Either Be Multipolar Or It Will Not Exist At All"

"How will the world order be shaped in the course of this impending confrontation? There is no ready answer to this question. The only thing that is certainly excluded is the establishment of a strong and stable unipolar world order, which the globalists so desperately cling to. The world will either be multipolar or it will not exist at all. The more and more aggressively the West insists on preserving its hegemony, the fiercer the battle will be.

"But multipolarity will not be formed by itself. The Islamic world is undergoing a significant regrouping. If Muslims are able to unite in the face of a common fierce enemy, a full-fledged Islamic pole will emerge. If they fail, it will delay the onset of multipolarity.

"It seems that each of the poles must prove its right for existence through conflict. Russia will become a full-fledged and sovereign pole by winning in Ukraine. China – by solving the problem of Taiwan. The Islamic world – by insisting on a just solution of the Palestinian question."

"A Multipolar World Order" Will Be "Fairer"

"Then will come the turns of India, Latin America and Africa, ever more fiercely clashing with the neo-colonial forces of the West. All the poles of the multipolar world will be forced to pass their test. And then we will return, partially, to the pre-Columbian world order, in which, in addition to Western Europe, several empires – Chinese, Indian, Russian, Ottoman, Persian – coexisted, as well as independent strong states in South Asia, Africa and Latin America. Even Oceania had its own political and social systems, which were later equated with 'savagery' and 'barbarism' by European colonizers and racists. Therefore, multipolarity is quite possible. This is what humanity was like before the globalist imperialist policy of the West began in the Modern Age.

"This does not mean that peace will immediately establish itself on the planet. But such a multipolar world order will be in any case much fairer and more balanced."
