Ask the Taliban Spokesman: Islamic Emirate Website Launches Q&A Forum - 'Anyone Can Easily Join Us By Contacting the Mujahideen In Their Areas and Saying How They Can Cooperate In The Way Of Jihad'

The website of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (the Taliban's shadow government) has launched an online question-and-answer forum, where online readers can submit questions to be answered by Zabihullah Mujahid, the main spokesman of the Taliban. The website is described as the Islamic Emirate's Voice of Jihad.

In the first answer-update session, 78 questions, were answered; the queries were mostly from Taliban sympathizers praising the Taliban and asking about topics ranging from political issues, such as talks with the U.S., to the Taliban policy about girls' education and the game of cricket.

All but three of the questions are in Pashtu. The three Dari-language questions are replied to in Dari, with grammatical mistakes, and the linguistic consistency in all of the answers shows that one person is doing the answering.

It seems that only a selected set of questions are answered. Few questions are asked in a critical tone, and the replies to them do not begin with Islamic greetings, as is the case for most replies to questions that include praise for the Taliban. ...
