On October 11, 2011, following Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula's (AQAP) confirmation of the death of American citizens Anwar Al-Awlaki and Samir Khan, the English-language jihadi forum Ansar Al-Mujahideen (AMEF) published a eulogy, in which the forum's administrators praised Al-Awlaki for having had the courage to speak the truth even at the risk of being arrested, and for coming to Yemen to actively wage jihad.
