Iraqi Militant Group "The Arrows of God" Extends Ultimatum
On April 2, 2007, the group Iraqi militant group "The Arrows of God" posted a second video, in which it issued a 10-day extension to its ultimatum to the government of Germany. It had originally issued the ultimatum on March 10, 2007.[1] In the video, German hostage Hannelore Marianne Krause appeals once again to the German government, repeating that she and her son will be killed unless Germany withdraws its forces from Afghanistan. She also appeals to the Austrian government, saying: "I worked at [the office] of the commercial attaché in the Austrian Embassy for many years, and now I am paying [the price]... I will be killed because Austria has troops in Afghanistan." Finally, she addresses her family, asking them to contact any person or party that can help pressure the German government into complying with the kidnappers' demands.
At the end of the video, a group member reiterates that Germany has 10 more days to withdraw its troops before the two hostages are killed.
