On August 26, 2021, pro-ISIS media outlets shared posts calling on supporters to take part in an "urgent media campaign" aimed at promoting the attack on the Kabul airport, claimed by the Islamic State (ISIS), which targeted U.S. servicemen and Afghans.

On August 23, 2021, the Global Islamic Media Front (GIMF), an official Al-Qaeda media outlet, issued a statement congratulating the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (the Afghan Taliban) on its recent "conquest of Afghanistan."
On August 19, 2021, a Syria-based jihadi group published a statement in which it congratulates the Afghan Taliban movement for the victory it achieved in Afghanistan.
On August 23, 2021, Group For Support Of Islam And Muslims (GSIM) and Al-Qaeda In The Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) issued a joint statement congratulating the Afghan people for the U.S. withdrawal from the country.
On Twitter, a pro-Taliban woman writes about the Taliban's recent takeover of Afghanistan, claiming it improves the lives of Afghans.
As the Taliban seek to consolidate power in Afghanistan, a pro-Islamic State (ISIS) media group released on August 23 a poster claiming that the Afghan Taliban have convinced Afghans of a falsehood by presenting themselves as liberators who will implement the shari'a.
Issue 300 of Al-Naba', the weekly newspaper of the Islamic State (ISIS), published on August 19, 2021, included an editorial denouncing the "delusional victory" of Taliban in Afghanistan and noting that it is part of an American plot to use negotiations and eliminate jihad.

On August 22, 2021, the Islamic State (ISIS) West Africa Province (ISWAP) released a photoset depicting its Judicial and Islamic Police Diwan (Bureau) in a shari'a courthouse in Nigeria.

Al-Shabab Claims Killing Over 31 Somali Soldiers, Seizing Control Of Two Cities, Freeing Prisoners
Shahada, the news agency of the Somalia-based Al-Qaeda affiliate Harakat Al-Shabab Al-Mujahideen (Al-Shabab) reported that the group's fighters killed over 31 Somali soldiers, including officers, seized 15 vehicles and many weapons, and took control over the cities of Amara and Bacaadweyn in the north-central Mudug region of Somalia.
