Over the past few days, jihadis on social media have been reacting to the escalating U.S. tension with Russia over its dispute with Ukraine. Posts on Telegram called on jihadis in Syria to exploit the crisis to attack Russia-backed militias in the area, while others expressed hope that a war will break out and cause the U.S. to collapse like the Soviet Union.
On February 15, 2022, As-Sahab, Al-Qaeda's official central media outlet, released the fourth part of a video series featuring the organization's leader, Ayman Al-Zawahiri, titled, "Deal of The Century or Crusades Spanning Centuries."

An article in the first issue of the English-language magazine "Voice Of Khurasan," published by Islamic State (ISIS), profiles suicide bomber Abdur Rahman Logari, who blew himself up at the Kabul international airport in August 2021, killing 183 people, including 13 American soldiers.
The months of December 2021 and January 2022 were characterized by escalating tension on the border between Jordan and Syria as confrontations increased between Jordanian security forces and cells that smuggle drugs from Syria to Jordan.

On February 10, 2022, the Islamic State (ISIS) released Issue 325 of its weekly newspaper Al-Naba', which includes an editorial arguing that the Arab media outlets are controlled by the Jews and Christians and follow their guidelines to wage war on Islam.
ISIS Sinai Province Claims Responsibility For Execution of Egyptian Army 'Spy' Active In Sinai
On February 11, 2022, Issue 325 of the Islamic State (ISIS) Al-Naba' official weekly magazine, published a report providing "exclusive" details about the ISIS execution of an Egyptian "spy" who, according to the organization, was involved in handing over one of its operatives to the Egyptian Army in the Sinai peninsula.
On February 10, 2022, the Islamic State in Central Africa Province (ISCAP) released a set of photos showing the prisoners it claimed it had freed, in statement released on February 4, 2022, from a prison located in the Democratic Republic of Congo near the Ugandan border.
The cover article in the inaugural issue of the English-language jihadi magazine "Voice of Khurasan," published by the Islamic State (ISIS), reveals that as late as 2018, the Afghan Taliban allowed poppy cultivation in order to generate income, a policy that may be continuing even now to fund the Taliban mujahideen.

On February 7, 2022, multiple Telegram channels affiliated with Islamic State (ISIS) supporters and Syrian rebels reported that Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) members had shot and killed three women and four children in the Al-Hol internment camp, after a fire had broken out in the section of the camp housing foreign women and their children.
On February 11, 2022, a pro-Islamic State (ISIS) media outlet released a video clip titled "The Victorious Battle Of The Prison Of Ghuwayran," which provided illustrated operational details and footage of the group's January 20 attack on the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF)-administrated Al-Sina'ah central prison, in the Ghuwayran neighborhood of Al-Hasakah city in northeastern Syria.
On February 10, 2022, a pro-Islamic State (ISIS) British preacher published two posters on his Telegram channel announcing the launch of a Twitter campaign to protest what he called "the systematic persecution of Muslims in the Philippines."
On February 5, 2022, a jihadi user on the encrypted social media platform Chirpwire proposed that jihadis in the West seek to form a new terrorist group that disregards the near-decade-long dispute between Al-Qaeda and the Islamic State (ISIS).
On February 14, 2022, a new media service under the umbrella of the media arm of the Yemen-based Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) released an approximately 11-minute video clip titled, "Marib and the Battle of the Steadfast."
On February 12, 2022, the media outlet of Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) released an approximately one-hour video which includes a lengthy speech from an AQIM operative who is described as someone "who joined the ranks of the mujahideen in Algeria in 2019."

An article in the latest issue of jihadi magazine Nawa-i-Ghazwa-e-Hind ("The Voice of the Battle of India") deals with the ideology of Hindutva presented by some Hindu ideologues, including Madha Sadashiv Golwalkar, the second Sarsanghchalak ("supreme leader") of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), a Hindu nationalist paramilitary volunteer organization in India.
On February 16, 2022, the official media outlet of Al-Qaeda's Somali affiliate Harakat Al-Shabab Al-Mujahideen (Al-Shabab) reported that shortly after midnight on the same day, Al-Shabab operatives commenced a "extensive military campaign" in the Somali capital of Mogadishu, during which they took control of several sections of the city.
On February 15, 2022, the media arm of the Somalia-based Al-Qaeda affiliate Al-Shabab, released part 19 of its "Inspire the Believers" recruitment video series. The nine-minute video clip, subtitled in English, features an elderly Swahili-speaking Kenyan man urging Muslims from other countries to undertake hijra (travel to wage jihad) to Somalia.
On the evening of February 11, 2022, several United Nations employees were abducted in Yemen's Abyan Governorate by unidentified assailants. Differing reports claim that five or six employees of the United Nations Department of Safety & Security (UNDSS) were kidnapped, while the names of three employees have been publicized. Suspicion for the abduction has fallen mainly on Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP).
Pro-Al-Qaeda Media Outlet Explains Why It Calls To Attack Christians In West
On February 15, 2022, a pro-Al-Qaeda media outlet posted a short message explaining why it is necessary to attack Christians in the West. The post states: "Why do we call to fight the Christians [in the West]? Because this is the duty of every Muslim, because fighting the Christians in their own lands hurts them more, because this widens the arena of the war against the Crusaders and because [the Christians] occupy Muslim lands and support the Jews in Palestine."
On February 16, 2022, AFP reported that French President Emmanuel Macron was expected to announce the withdrawal of French troops from Mali and their redeployment to other Sahel states at the European Union-African Union summit in Brussels scheduled for February 17-18.

On February 9, 2022, the Turkestan Islamic Party (TIP), an Uyghur jihadi group active in Syria, uploaded several photos showing its fighters performing "ribat" (frontline guard duties) in the rural area north of Latakia, Syria.
On February 9, 2022, s Syria-based U.S.-born journalist livestreamed an interview with a London-based Jordanian jihadi cleric who defended his support for Hay'at Tahrir Al-Sham (HTS) and its leader Abu Muhamad Al-Joulani despite allegations that the group employs torture.

Syrian Opposition Websites: Iran-Backed Militias Move Large Contingents To Southern Syria
In mid-February 2022, there were reports on Syrian opposition websites and news sites which oppose the Syrian regime and Iran, stating that the Iran-backed Shi'ite militias had moved numerous forces from eastern Syria to the southern part of the country.
