On March 10, 2022, a media outlet which specializes in circulating official statements from the leadership of the Islamic State (ISIS), released a 12-minute audio statement announcing the death of ISIS leader Abu Ibrahim Al-Qurayshi and ISIS spokesman Abu Hamza Al-Qurayshi and the appointment of Abu Al-Hassan Al-Hashimi Al-Qurayshi as the new ISIS leader.

Shortly after the release of ISIS's statement announcing the appointment of a new caliph, disseminated widely on social media, ISIS fighters and supporters published statement and photos declaring their allegiance to the new leader and encouraging others to do the same.
Following the statement made by the Islamic State (ISIS) on March 10, 2022, announcing the death of ISIS leader Abu Ibrahim Al-Qurayshi along with ISIS spokesman Abu Hamza Al-Muhajir and the appointment of Abu Al-Hassan Al-Hashimi Al-Qurashi as the new caliph, groups around the world which are affiliated with the organization in various ISIS provinces began to release pictorial reports documenting their oaths of allegiance to the new caliph.
On March 14, 2022, the Islamic State (ISIS) Syria province released an eight-minute video titled, "The Jihad of the Believers Will Continue," showing its members pledging allegiance to the new ISIS caliph Abu Al-Hassan Al-Qurashi Al-Hashimi.
ISIS Weekly Highlights Five ISIS Sinai Attacks On Egyptian Army In One Week, Killing Seven
The March 11, 2022 issue 329 of the Islamic State's (ISIS) weekly newspaper Al-Naba' reported that "soldiers of the Caliphate" in Sinai carried out five operations against the "Egyptian Apostate Army and its militias."
ISIS Fighters In West African Sahel Join Other ISIS Provinces In Pledging Allegiance To New Caliph
On March 14, 2022, Islamic State (ISIS) official media published 23 photos showing ISIS fighters in the West African Sahel region gathering to swear their allegiance (bay'ah) to the group's new caliph, Abu Al-Hassan Al-Hashimi Al-Qurashi.

On March 16, 2022, the Islamic State in Central Africa (ISCAP) reported that its operatives clashed with pro-government militias in the Ituri region of Eastern Congo.

ISIS Operatives In India Province Pledge Allegiance To New Caliph
On March 15, 2022, the Islamic State (ISIS) India Province (Wilayat Al-Hind) published eight photographs on Telegram depicting its members pledging allegiance to the new ISIS caliph, Abu Al-Hasan Al-Hashemi Al-Qurashi.
The second issue of Voice of Khurasan, an English-language monthly magazine published by the Islamic State (ISIS), declares the Afghan Taliban to be "enemies of Islam" and "U.S. mercenaries."
Al-Qaeda Somali Affiliate Al-Shabab Claims Responsibility For Deaths Of 11 Kenyan Soldiers in Kenya
On March 14, 2022, the media outlet of the Somalia-based Al-Shabab jihadi organization reported that on the same day, Al-Shabab operatives detonated an IED on a Kenyan Defence Forces convoy loaded with military equipment near a military base in northeastern Kenya.

On March 9, 2022, the Telegram channel of the Balagh monthly magazine, published by independent, anti-Hayat Tahrir Al-Sham (HTS) jihadi clerics in Syria's Idlib region, released Issue 34 of the magazine, which contains a scathing editorial attacking the rebel leaders in Syria.
On March 8, 2022, a Dubai-based Syrian opposition website published a report alleging that a Lebanese national employed by the Beirut office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (UN-OHCHR) is a Hizbullah collaborator.
Following the March 13, 2022 missile attack on Erbil in northern Iraq, for which Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) has claimed responsibility, Syrian opposition websites report that the IRGC and militias subordinate to it have reorganized their forces in various parts of eastern Syria, near the Iraqi border, and have moved some of them into inhabited areas, in preparation for a possible counterattack by the U.S.

An anti-Afghan Taliban armed group announced its presence in Afghanistan and vowed to eliminate the Taliban from Afghanistan, according to an Afghan news agency. The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (the Taliban jihadi organization) seized power on August 15, 2021.
