Make it possible for us to continue to bridge the language gap between the Middle East, Iran, Turkey, South Asia, the Caucasus, Russia, and China and the West.
We realize that you or a family member may have donated to MEMRI under another name or email account. If so, we would like to sincerely thank you for your support. Donations can take several weeks to process.
MEMRI research, with its significant intelligence value, is filling a major void, and is being used by governments and militaries. So far this year, our 25th, we have again shown that we are on the cutting edge in this field.
As one of the world's most productive nonprofit think tanks focusing on the Middle East and South Asia and on threats to the U.S. and the West, MEMRI's extensive research output equals or surpasses that of similar organizations many times our size with many times our budget.
But our research and translation teams are stretched to the limit. There is so much more of this primary source material that MEMRI needs to monitor, translate, and distribute. We are appealing to you, our loyal readers and subscribers who have not yet donated, to help us hire more staff to monitor and translate more primary source content and distribute it to governments, legislatures, media, and readers like you.
Since Hamas terrorists launched their attack on Israel early on the morning of October 7, 2023, MEMRI teams at MEMRI headquarters in Washington, D.C., Jerusalem, and around the world have been working 24/7 to bring you up-to-the minute translations from primary source materials, and original analysis. The translated MEMRI TV clips that we released during this period – including of Hamas leaders pledging to carry out similar attacks on Israel again and again, explaining that the tunnels under Gaza are to protect Hamas fighters and that Hamas is not responsible for Gaza civilians' safety, and expressing gratitude to Iran for its ongoing support over the years – have had well over 80 million views.
In the days and weeks since October 7, and as other related threats have emerged, such as the Yemeni Houthi attacks on shipping in the Red Sea and the incessant and increasingly violent and openly antisemitic pro-Palestinian and pro-Hamas protests across the West, we have continued to publish unprecedented number – approaching 1,000 – of reports, clips, and analysis pieces. These include statements by the leadership of Hamas, Iran, the Houthis, and other Iran-backed organizations in the region; rereleases from the MEMRI and MEMRI TV archives of reports and clips relevant to today's crisis across the Middle East; reporting and opinions from the Arab media; and more.
Also during this time, we have sent out nearly 600 emails of our research to readers like you. Please help us today to continue our work.
We are experts in this – we have been exposing extremism, antisemitism, and jihadi threats for over 25 years. Nobody else is doing the work that we do.
In these difficult days, MEMRI is continuing to "bridge the language gap," providing governments, legislatures, law enforcement bodies, and academia, in the U.S. and across the West, with statements by Hamas and other Gaza terrorist organizations – what they themselves are saying. We are monitoring these sources and these important developments and reporting about them days before they appear in media elsewhere.
MEMRI staff – researchers, translators, editors, and technical and distribution teams – are working around the clock every single day. The work we are doing is exacting and exhausting, and producing this research is very costly. There is much to do, and we can only cover so much. We need your help today.
With employer matching gift programs, you can double or even triple the impact of your donation to MEMRI. We have partnered with Double the Donation to make this matching gift process easier than ever. Visit our matching gift page here to see if your employer will match your donation."
We are asking you today, as our reader, to help us continue our essential work. We cannot do this without you.
Please help us continue our crucial work.
Sincerely,
