Palestinian historian Ghassan Weshah said in a February 28, 2022 show on Al-Aqsa TV (Hamas-Gaza) compared the Russian invasion of Ukraine to the 1956 Suez war, after which he said the world order was "rearranged" and the U.S. and the Soviet Union emerged dominant in a world that had previously been dominated by the French and the British. He predicted that similarly, the world order will change as a consequence of the Ukraine invasion, with "obvious repercussions" for the Muslims and for Palestine. In addition, he said that there are studies that predict the collapse of the United States and of Israel. Specifically, he claimed that there is a study that says that Israel will collapse within 20 years.

They were the masters of the world. Immediately after the Suez war, Britain and France became number three in the world hierarchy. The USA and the USSR ascended to the top of the list.
"This is exactly what is going to happen with the invasion of Ukraine. This will have obvious repercussions for the Islamic nation and for Palestine.
