In an exclusive interview with the Indian website, Muslim Khan, spokesman for the Taliban militants led by Maulana Fazlullah in the Swat district of Pakistan’s North West Frontier Province (NWFP), has warned that their fighters are preparing for a new offensive during the month of Ramadan.

The interview came amid continuing speculation that Maulana Fazlullah may have been wounded or killed during the recent army operation in Swat district. The Islamic fasting month of Ramadan (Ramzan in Urdu) begins either August 22 or 23, depending on the sighting of the new moon.

About the recently concluded three-month military operation against the Taliban in the Swat district, Muslim Khan noted that the Taliban fighters had simply gone underground.
