In a recent TV interview on Al-Dunya TV, an organ of the Syrian regime, Thaer Ahmad Ibrahim, secretary of the Media Committee of the Syrian Lawyers Union, said: "Elie Wiesel is the most dangerous and morally base human being in the world today." Calling Nobel laureate Wiesel "the only survivor of the Holocaust," Ibrahim said: "That man pays 5 million dollars to each and every cinema in France… to screen a film that incites to attack Syria and Iran with a nuclear bomb."
In the June 18, 2012 interview, Ibrahim also said that Wiesel was "the greatest enemy of President Bashar Al-Assad" and that he "has people who deify him and worship him like a god."

Ibrahim: Wiesel A Legend Because He Is "The Only Survivor Of The Holocaust"
Thaer Ahmad Ibrahim: "I would like to stress once again that Elie Wiesel is a very dangerous man. He has become something of a legend, because he is considered the only survivor of the Holocaust. He was in the Auschwitz camp in Poland, and then was transferred to Buchenwald, Germany, at the end of the World War, when the U.S. forces arrived to liberate the Holocaust detainees."
Ibrahim: Wiesel Incites To Nuclear Attack Against Syria And Iran
Thaer Ahmad Ibrahim: "That man pays 5 million dollars to each and every cinema in France, so that they will all screen a film that incites to attack Syria and Iran with a nuclear bomb. The film is 12 minutes long, and he pays each cinema 5 million dollars to screen it."
