In a statement dated December 6, 2011, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (the Taliban's shadow government in the country) called the December 5 Bonn Conference on the future of Afghanistan "futile."
"The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan wants to call on all of the occupying countries to pay attention to our fundamental problems and demands as well as to those of their own countries rather than wasting time on such vain and futile conferences," said the statement, which was issued the day after the December 5 conference. ...
