Amid Biden's visit to Detroit in order to speak at the NAACP Fight for Freedom Fund dinner, Dearborn, Michigan held a "No Votes for Genocide" rally on May 19, 2024. Michigan comedian and activist Amer Zahr, who spoke at the rally, said that the Arab community in Michigan will decide who the next president of the United States will be. He added that this will be the community that votes Joe Biden - whom he called "Genocide Joe" - out of office in the November elections. He assisted children who attended the rally in chanting "From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be free." The rally was streamed live on Amer Zahr's Facebook page.
Amer Zahr: "I don't know if some of you noticed, but half an hour ago the plane carrying Genocide Joe flew overhead. We are standing in the community that is going to decide who the next president of the United States is. If Dearborn and the Arab community is going to have any say, we are going to make sure that we bring down Joe Biden in the fall. We will be the community that takes the president out of office, because we say: No matter what, no matter how bad the other options might be – that is not our problem."

"All we hear on the news is the safety of Jewish students and Jewish people, and yes, everyone's safety should be guaranteed. But the people who are actually dying, and who are actually victims of violence, are our people, and our community. So we need to stand up. We need to make sure that we are the voice that decided who the next president of the U.S. is, because we have that power here, in Michigan and in this community especially. We are going to be the ones who decide who the next president of the U.S. is. So my question for you is: Are you voting for Joe Biden in the fall?"
