Interviewer: November 12, 2012. We are in Qalat Al-Madiq. This is one of the detainees, released from Assad’s prison. Introduce yourself.
Released Syrian prisoner : Fadi Ahmad Abd Al-Salam.
Interviewer: Where were you detained?
Fadi Ahmad Abd Al-Salam: In Hama.
Interviewer: Where in Hama?
Fadi Ahmad Abd Al-Salam: At the Airforce Intelligence base.
Interviewer: How long were you held there?
Fadi Ahmad Abd Al-Salam: Four months.
Interviewer: How old are you, and how much did you weigh before your arrest?
Fadi Ahmad Abd Al-Salam: I am 18 years old, and I weighed 80 kg.
Interviewer: For how long were you detained?
Fadi Ahmad Abd Al-Salam: Four months.
Interviewer: Why did they arrest you?
Fadi Ahmad Abd Al-Salam: They didn’t say.
Interviewer: Were you armed, or did you commit any armed activity?
Fadi Ahmad Abd Al-Salam: None whatsoever, but from now on, I want to fight the state and Bashar the tyrant.
Interviewer: How many people were with you in prison?
Fadi Ahmad Abd Al-Salam: A thousand.
Interviewer: Were people killed there?
Fadi Ahmad Abd Al-Salam: Every day seven or eight.

Fadi Ahmad Abd Al-Salam: Starvation.
Interviewer: Tell us about the food in prison.
Fadi Ahmad Abd Al-Salam: A quarter of a piece of bread, 3 olives, and late at night, some rice and lentils.
Interviewer: That’s for the entire day?
Fadi Ahmad Abd Al-Salam: Yes, every day.
