Following is an except from the Iranian Al-Alam TV's coverage of the Yad Vashem Museum Inauguration Ceremony aired on March 16, 2005
Newscaster:Heads of state and foreign ministers from 40 countries accepted Israel's invitation to participate in the inauguration of the largest museum of the so-called Nazi holocaust. The delegation was headed by UN Secretary-General Kofi Anan, who just the previous day had rejected an invitation by the Palestinian people to visit the racist separation wall.
Reporter:How similar is this day to that day in 1948 when the West supported the establishment of the occupying entity on the land of Palestine, completely disregarding - and continuing to disregard - the entire Palestinian people. Heads of state, foreign ministers, and senior officials from 40 countries came to inaugurate Yad Vashem, the museum of the so-called holocaust committed by the Nazis in Germany, Belgium, and Poland - an issue still disputed and questioned among the Europeans themselves.
They came to strengthen the Hebrew state, and it was no coincidence that they chose to build the museum to dig away at one of Jerusalem's hills. This took place only one day after the (Israeli) occupation government approved that hill's annexation to the western side of the racist separation wall - thereby undermining the chances of establishing a Palestinian state, as anticipated in the West Bank and Gaza. Once again Israel is rewarded for its very existence, and the Palestinians are punished for their very existence.
