The following excerpts are from an interview with Jordanian author Ibrahim Al-'Alloush, which aired on Al-Jazeera TV on March 23, 2010.
Ibrahim Al-'Alloush: Some people talk about elections. They elected Mahmoud 'Abbas. Brother, what kind of elections can there be under occupation? No elections or political process is legitimate under occupation – whether in Iraq or in Palestine. Anything based on falsehood is false and meaningless. As for the Arab regimes that coordinate with the CIA and with the Zionist enemy – may they go to hell! We oppose the entire concept of peace as a strategic option, and any plan for a political settlement, regardless of whether the betrayal is by an Arab or a Palestinian.

I've said in the past that the public must take action, in the streets, and if the authority stands in our way – whoever stands between us and the Zionists should be treated as a Zionist. This holds true not only with regard to Palestine, by the way, but also with regard to the streets of Amman and Cairo. It applies to any country that maintains relations with the Zionist enemy. Every Arab ruler must realize that maintaining ties with the Zionists, and receiving Zionist officials, will be met by a popular Arab response that will shake the ground under his feet.
