Following are excerpts from a video featuring “Abu Hafs,” a Salafi rebel in Syria, which was posted on the Internet on January 14, 2013
:“Abu Hafs”, waving a sword: We will cut off their heads with our swords, and make the soil vomit their bodies. This is our vengeance against the [Alawite] infidels, who betrayed ‘Aisha and Abu Bakr. You are only 5%, we will trample you underfoot.
Syrian rebel: This was a message from “Abu Hafs.” Where did you go? “Abu Hafs,” come and deliver your message.
“Abu Hafs”: This is a message to the Arab and Muslim peoples: In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate. Blessings to Allah, but not to you – you worshippers of America and Russia, you who betrayed the Syrian people and the mujahideen. Do you know that this nation can challenge the entire world? Are you kidding me?! Where are the Strela and Igla missiles? You are traitors. You betrayed Allah and His Messenger. By Allah, we will fight with swords, rifles, and stones. By Allah, we will be victorious and will cut off your heads with our swords. This is the land of Syria, which was promised by the Prophet Muhammad.
Crowd : Allah Akbar. Allah Akbar.
“Abu Hafs”: The angels spread their wings over the land of Syria. Come, we will wage Jihad, our women will wage Jihad, our children will wage Jihad.
Allah Akbar.
Crowd: Allah Akbar
Syrian rebel: We are in Haish, fighting Assad’s army. This is the message of the rebels to Bashar Al-Assad.
