Abdullah Al-Na'ami, a member of the political bureau of the Houthi Ansar Allah movement discussed an American-led international naval coalition to combat Houthi threats in the Red Sea on a December 18, 2023 show on Al-Alam TV (Iran). He said that the Houthis are not worried by this step and that have been saying that they wish to enter a direct confrontation with the U.S. and its "Bedouin Lackeys." Al-Na'ami added: "We are ready to fight at any moment." He warned that if the U.S creates such a coalition, this would mean exposing international waterways in the Red Sea, the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, and the Arabian Sea to "real and imminent danger."
Abdullah Al-Na'ami: "Saudi Arabia and the Americans know that when they launched a war against us, we did not have a single missile. But during the ceasefire of the last two years, we were able to muster all our human, financial, and strategic capabilities in order to develop our military systems, especially our missile and UAV systems. So we are not worried in the slightest. On the contrary, we have been saying for a long time now that we will enter a direct confrontation with the Americans, who are recruiting their Bedouin lackeys to fight us. Let the U.S. go into war with us. We are ready to fight at any moment.

"I would like to issue a warning. If the U.S. chooses to create an alliance in order to launch a war of aggression against Yemen – this would mean exposing the international waterways in the Red Sea, the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, and the Arabian Sea to real and imminent danger. The U.S. will be responsible for all consequences.

"I am warning that any aggression by the U.S. against Yemen may escalate into an all-out regional war. The U.S. would bear responsibility for the results of this escalation, or the results of anything that such an escalation would entail."
