Following are excerpts from an interview with Iranian Ambassador to Russia Reza Sajadi, which aired on Russia Today TV on December 3, 2009.
Reza Sajadi: This racist regime, occupying the Palestinian lands, should not be blown out of proportions, by talking about the possibility that it will strike Iran. This regime has shown its force only against the [common] people in Sabra and Shatila and in Gaza. We saw how a few soldiers from Hizbullah fought this army. Therefore, it’s better not to discuss this issue at all.
As for the US, I cannot say that it will not attack Iran, but it is well known that during its war with Iraq, Iran fought and did not lose any part of its land. What can the US do to us beyond what it did to Vietnam? Did it defeat the Vietnamese people? Can the US do to us anything beyond what it did to Japan, on which it dropped nuclear bombs? I am certain that the resistance of the Iranian people will be stronger, and that America will suffer a greater defeat. The Iranian people will fight if such a strategic mistake is made.
Finally, America is like a demon sitting in a glass house. It should refrain from harming others, because they will harm it as well.
