The following are excerpts from several statements by Tawfiq Okasha, the owner of Al-Faraeen TV, which aired on Al-Faraeen TV in December, 2009.
Al-Faraeen TV, December 20, 2009
Tawfiq Okasha: We have received several offers, the most important of which was to enter into a partnership with several American channels with regard to a few shows. Then we were offered a partnership with the BBC. Finally, Al-Faraeen TV got a third offer: to cooperate with German governmental TV.
We had to make a decision and the decision was very clear: cooperation between Al-Faraeen TV and German governmental TV, for the following reasons: First, the school of European media is based on the school of German media, which was developed by the Germans in the early 20th century, and which played a major role and had great influence on all German speakers in Europe.
[...]
In addition, the roots of German and European society go back more than 4,000 years. Hence, there is a clear resemblance between the Egyptian and Arab roots, which go back more than 5,000–6,000 years – and especially the Egyptian roots, which go back 7,000–9,000 years – and the German European race, which goes back more than 4,000–5,000 years. When the media emerges from the philosophy of deep-rooted societies, it has schools, mechanisms, and theories, which are completely different from those of the media that emerged from new societies, like the United States of America, which is 350 years old.
In addition, the United States is not one people with a common fabric. These people came from all countries of the world, and gathered in the new village [sic] that was discovered, and began to fight the native inhabitants of the village. This was the second civilization in the world to be founded on blood. The first was the civilization of Babylon and Assyria in Iraq. The United States was the second civilization to be founded on blood.

Therefore, we agreed with German governmental TV to begin cooperation in January 2010, after signing of the contract. This cooperation will involve four shows.

Tawfiq Okasha: America made a hero out of Osama Bin Laden, when it urged him to fight the Russians in Afghanistan, as well as when it turned against him, and transformed him into a ghost that threatens the whole world. America turned him into a legend that threatens the entire world with terror operations - just like it did to Saddam Hussein. Ur American brothers are very good with the media. They create stars, and they extinguish other stars.
[...]
This is what they did to Saddam Hussein. They said to him: Iran stole an oil well that belongs to you. Brother Saddam went to fight for that oil well. They also said to him: You are the eastern gate defending the Arab world from the Persian invasion and the Islamic revolution in Iran.
[...]
Later, they led him to the trap of invading Kuwait, and closed the trap on him. Eventually, they took Saddam's money, as well as the money of the Kuwait brothers. Any petrodollar that comes their way – they take. They say: "We shouldn't leave this money to these people, because the Egyptians and the Arabs don't understand a thing. From north to south, from east to west – they are all backward. We should trick them and take their money, or else they will use it to buy a bomb."
[...]
Saddam Hussein was sentenced to death, even though he was once America's No. 1 guy. He commanded the battle of Steadfastness and Confrontation against President Sadat. The Americans instructed Saddam to do this, so that Sadat would not enter the peace negotiations armed with Arab consensus, which would strengthen his stand in the negotiations with Israel. No. They told Saddam to form the Front of the Steadfastness and Confrontation, and he did. Thus, Anwar Sadat negotiated with no wings. Naked. All alone.
[...]
But Sadat turned himself into a prophet of peace in the eyes of the American and European peoples. This way he exerted pressure on the Americans and Europeans by means of their peoples.
[...]
You see how smart Sadat was? A real sly fox. What was the end? Anwar Sadat was killed by the Islamic organizations, one of which is Al-Qaeda.

Tawfiq Okasha: America's schizophrenia and split personality has become very strange. They say that they support freedom of the press, then all of a sudden, they want to limit the freedom of the press. They say that they want to spread democracy through the media, then all of a sudden, they say: "No, we don't want anyone to curse America. You can curse your own governments, your own leaders, your own ministers, and all the officials in your own countries, but when it comes to America – sorry, to "Mama America" – we are supposed to remove our hats, and bow in respect to the great world priest – US Congress. The Congress leads the USA, along with the president.
[...]
The Congress demanded the punishing of any country if it is proven that one of its TV channels attacked "Mama America." We should get the cane, and give the channel a beating, give the channel director a beating, give all the workers a beating... After we cane them, we should send them to Guantanamo, or else build a new prison for them. I'm afraid I will be living in the new prison, because I have a loose tongue, and I call a spade a spade.
