Hizbullah Claims Drone Attack On Northern Israel In Retaliation For Killing Of Senior Hamas And Hizbullah Commanders

On January 9, 2023, a Hizbullah-linked Telegram channel published a claim of responsibility for a drone attack on IDF Northern Command headquarters in the northern Israeli city of Safed, saying that it was in retaliation for killings attributed to Israel: on January 2, Hamas political bureau deputy head Saleh Al-Arouri and others that is widely attributed to Israel, and on January 8, of the commander of Hizbullah's elite Radwan Unit, Wisam Al-Taweel. The IDF said that while on January 9 several "hostile enemy targets" had crossed from Lebanese into Israel, no damage and no casualties had resulted.
