On March 30, 2013, 'Abd Al-Hamid Al-Irlandi ("The Irish"), a Shumoukh Al-Islam forum member, posted in the forum his musings on whether Al-Qaeda was behind an alleged cyberattack that targeted the U.S. government website Open Source Center (OSC).
According to its website, the OSC is a "premier provider of foreign open source intelligence" to various U.S. bodies.
It is noteworthy that as of this writing, no confirmation of recent cyberattacks against the OSC could be found online. Also, Al-Irlandi does not specify when such alleged cyberattacks might have taken place, nor does he provide evidence of such an attack. Since hackers typically provide links to the defaced webpage of websites they have hacked, it is possible that Al-Irlandi's post is merely a PSYOP attempt.
