The Islamic State (ISIS) recruiter from Kerala, India, known as Abdul Rashid.
On November 15, 2017, it was reported that an audio recording by an Islamic State (ISIS) recruiter had been shared on a WhatsApp group called "Light Of Kerala," named for the Indian state where many of its members are located. The speaker is thought to be an individual known as Abdul Rashid, believed to be in Afghanistan after leaving Kerala in 2016. An earlier investigation by India's National Investigation Agency had found that Abdul Rashid had created at least two WhatsApp groups with about 200 people in Kerala, on which he shared messages urging group members to join ISIS.
This recording is reportedly the 50th such recording on the Light Of Kerala WhatsApp group; it appears to have been posted sometime after June 2017.
In the recording, Abdul Rashid, speaking Malayalam, the language predominantly spoken in Kerala, calls for wiping out democracy, Hinduism, and Christianity, praises the gunman in the October 2017 Las Vegas shooting, and encourages group members to attack unbelievers by poisoning their food and water, derailing trains, and carrying out attacks using trucks, vehicles, firearms, and knives.
In the recording, the speaker says: "Keep waging war against the unbelievers till it becomes Dar-ul-Islam. You have unbeliever Hindus who pray to cows, snakes, and even phallus. Shiva lingam is nothing but the private part of Shiva. Women and children worship it. Why do you let them live in peace? Allah says finish them, kill them, and annihilate them. Democracy, Hinduism, and Christianity have to be wiped out, only Allah's writ should run large. Till they are annihilated you should keep fighting. You are intelligent people, many of you have completed your higher education. You should know how to implement it. Use your intelligence to kill the unbelievers, kill them, poison their food, and poison all their water...
"You could use trucks. Ram vehicles right into them. It happens in other parts of the world also... ISIS mujahideen keep doing it. And if you have access to weapons, Kalashnikovs, or even a pistol, look what that guy in Las Vegas did, one of our supporters went to a rock concert, the palace of Satan, he finished them off... Hail him... You could also do that... Or you could derail a train, let the unbelievers die. You can even use a knife to cause as much damage... There are organizations that claim to represent Muslims. They are fake ones, once in a while they issue anti-Hindu statements or maximum they manage to convert one Hindu to Islam. One must understand that we can never have our way in India, because India is ruled by Hindus. That is why you should wage jihad."
